摘要內容:
If the 3D incompressible Navier-Stokes equation will develop finite
time singularity is one of the most outstanding open problems in
mathematics and fluid dynamics, which is the 3rd Millennium problem by
Clay Math Institute. Since the classical work by Leray in 1934, great
effort and progress has been made in harmonic analysis and PDE, while
it looks there will be still a VERY long way to the answer. Scientific
computing has contributed a lot in finding singular solutions, from
the Taylor-Green flow long ago to recent anti-parallel vortex tube and
the Kida-Pelz high symmetric configuration. By studying these
examples, not only some new structure in the fluid are revealed and
provided as new hints for analysis, the numerical method and technique
itself are further developed. This talk will present some recent
progress following this thread.
