Satellite image resolution are decided by the camera CCD size and orbit altitude, especially the CCD size. images with high resolution (HR) are desired and often required. People utilize image interpolation with a single image frame for image enlargement traditionally. This causes the limitation of the image quality. To increasing the image resolution, many skills are studied and implemented, Super-resolution image reconstruct algorithm is proposed that utilizes multiple frames as additional information to estimate the high resolution image. In this presentation, another approach are surveyed—over-sampling or hyper-sampling, applying asynchronous imaging mode when satellite are taking image, to rotate satellite attitude for looking backward in the overlapping target area; interlacing the adjacent overlapping pixels by half pixel will derive the sub-pixel information; the post-processing step play an important role on the resolution increasing using this hyper-sampling approach. In this presentation, some EROS-1A images with over-sampling skill will be demonstrated for comparison and the possible approach for post-processing will be presented also.
