The harmonic map heat flow was first devised by Eells and Sampson to prove the existence of harmonic maps. The method has since received much attention and been applied to many geometric problems. In this talk, we will describe a general result concerning the limiting behavior of the harmonic map heat equations via the geometry of the limit set.
