A temporally and spatially accurate semi-discretization scheme will be presented to solve the Camassa-Holm (CH) equation for modeling the dispersive nature of the shallow water wave. For the sake of preserving the long-time behavior of the embedded Hamilitonian structure, the time-stepping scheme of the symplectic type is employed. For the sake of preserving the dispersion nature of the investigated highly dispersive equation, the scheme employed for approximating the spatially derivative terms is designed to accommodate the analytic dispersion relation. The physically inherent CH properties will be computationally revisited through the tests conducted in the present study.
