摘要內容:
The weak anisotropies of the interfacial free energy and kinetic coefficients are crucial parameters influencing dendritic crystal growth morphologies in systems with atomically rough solid-liquid interfaces. The physical origin and quantitative prediction of these anisotropies are investigated for body-centered-cubic forming systems using a Ginzburg-Landau theory where the order parameters are the amplitudes of density waves corresponding to principal reciprocal lattice vectors. A recent developed phase-field-crystal model is used to examine the above crystal structure dependent anisotropies predicted by the Ginzburg-Landau theory. Furthermore, we use the phase-field-crystal model to investigate the nanoscale pattern formation including the island formation, step flow dynamics, dislocation behavior, etc. A better understanding and controlling of the above topics would result in a great advance in nanofabrication of quantum dots, nanowires, etc.
