摘要內容：
Pluricanonical forms play important roles in studies of compact complex manifolds. In this talk, we will first briefly review the Riemann-Roch theorem for compact Riemann surfaces. Then we will talk about a theorem of Royden linking the classification of compact Riemann surfaces of higher genus with canonically defined norms on the space of quadratic differentials. Finally, we introduce a project initiated by Shing-Tung Yau aiming at understanding the geometry of higher dimensional complex algebraic manifolds.
