Abstract:
We solve the wave equation and shallow water equations on the conformal parametric domain where the PDEs are properly scaled according to the conformal factor and a non-reflective condition is imposed on the outgoing boundary. Traditional approaches such as natural boundary condition, absorbing boundary condition or perfect matching layer etc., can be difficult to be applied when these equations are to be solved on non-regular domain. Therefore, we proposed a simple non-reflective boundary condition for the space-time finite element method. Finally, the numerical results presented here demonstrate the effectiveness of our numerical non-reflective boundary treatment.
