  As some in the audience are graduate students, this talk will emphasize on ideas and global pictures rather than the proof of the theorems. My main interests and a constant theme in my research are to find canonical representatives, particularly related to area functional. In this talk, I will introduce different examples of canonical representatives, then move to the ones that I have been working on and various methods I have used in studying these problems.
