Abstract:
Successful Micro-Electro-Mechanical-Systems (MEMS) device cannot be developed without considering the varying technique connection and combination between science and engineering, such as bioengineering, lab-on-a-chip, thermal phenomena,
acoustic vibration, chemistry, nanotechnology, optical engineering, power and energy, hydrodynamics, wireless communication, and so on. Thus a designer scientist or engineer who devotes in the field of MEMS would face with the inevitable challenges: the interdisciplinary design.
To resolve the challenges, the physical models of every MEMS device eventually must be embedded in the concerned MEMS structures. In the presentation, we will discuss a microplatform for proximity effect study on the growth of in-vitro Cells, in which the field characteristics and thermal analysis could be achieved using the Kramers-Kronig relations and the Green's theorem, respectively. Then, we will also discuss some extended applications on the 3DIC and a biomimetic microphone for hearing aids.
