Abstract：
I shall discuss conserved quantities such as energy, linear momentum, and angular momentum for initial data sets in general relativity. These involve solutions of the vacuum constraint equation, a nonlinear elliptic PDE system, with certain geometry data at asymptotic infinity. We provide a very explicit method of construction that it should be possible to numerically approximate the resulting solutions to a high degree of accuracy. This is based on joint work with L.-H. Huang and R. Schoen.
