摘要內容：
In this talk, we will demonstrate how to apply real and computational algebraic geometry to solve concrete problems from two fields, the studies of central configurations from the Newtonian N-body problem and Maxwell's conjecture about the electric potential created by point charges. Problems that we considered from both fields can be reduced to positive zero counting for parametric polynomial systems. We will show how to apply standard computer algebra tools to solve these problems.
