Regulations for Undergraduate Students
Applicable from Fall 2015 and thereafter
In case of having discrepancy with the Chinese version the latter shall prevail. In other words, the version as demonstrated here is for sole purpose of having a reference only. Whenever any concern may arise, please contact the Department office for an official version of the regulations.
- To learn more about the Department・s course requirements and total number of required credit-hours for the completion of the undergraduate program, please see the attached file.
- A student who obtains a score which is less than 40 in Calculus I will not be allowed to enroll in Calculus II.
- Upon obtaining permission from an instructor teaching Introduction to Analysis, a student who has achieved an average which is more than or equal to 50 points in Calculus I and Calculus II may enroll in Introduction to Analysis taught by the same instructor.
- A student who obtains a score which is less than 40 in Introduction to Analysis I will not be allowed to enroll in Introduction to Analysis II.
- A transfer student who has achieved passing scores in (a year-long sequence of) Calculus courses offered by another institute (or outside the Department), or has obtained a score meeting the criteria of the Calculus Teaching Committee in the transfer exam, will be allowed to waive the course requirements on Calculus. The transfer of credit-hours for the Calculus courses will be processed in accordance with the regulations of the Division of Registration. Waiving of other course requirements will be determined through corroboration from related departments or institutes.
- Apart from the mandatory courses as required by the Department, a student has to obtain passing scores in elective courses with a total of at least 6 credit-hours offered by the Department.
- A student must take each mandatory course in the Department, regardless of whether it is the student・s first attempt at passing the course or not. Under very special circumstance, a student may be allowed to take a mandatory course in another institute only through (and after) obtaining permission from the Course Committee.
