International Admission
Application
- Degree-Seeking Students
The department welcomes applications of international students to the undergraduate and graduate program. Minimal requirements for all programs are a proof of English or Chinese proficiency and a proof of sufficient funds to cover all fees. For the undergraduate program, in addition, a high school diploma (or above) is needed. Moreover, prospective students should have an interest in problem solving and abstract thinking. Students wishing to enroll in a graduate program need a Bachelor diploma (or above) for the master program and a Master diploma (or above) for the PhD program. Prospective students of one of the master programs should indicate in the study plan in which master program they want to enroll (for a description of the master programs offered by the apartment see here).
- Exchange Students
The department welcomes applications of exchange students. The application should be recommended by the home institute. In case of questions, please send an email to: michelletu@nycu.edu.tw (office of international affairs) or lcchang607@nycu.edu.tw (department of applied mathematics).
Scholarships for Prospective Students
- For undergraduates, there are two types of scholarships.
- Taiwan Scholarship
This scholarship is offered by the Taiwan Government and has to be applied via the Taiwanese Embassy or Representative Office in the prospective student’s home country. The scholarship is awarded for 4 years. Detailed information of regulations as well as how and when to apply can be found here . - NYCU/nycu International Scholarship
This scholarship is offered by NYCU/nycu. New students can apply for an “Outstanding New Student Scholarship” which will be awarded for one semester. After one semester, students can apply for an “Outstanding Current Student Scholarship” which will be awarded for one year. Scholarships may be renewed after an annual review. Scholarships will be awarded based on the applicant’s potential and academic performance. For detailed description of regulations see here.
- Taiwan Scholarship
- For graduate students, apart from the two scholarships above, a couple of other scholarships are available based on the program of study and/or home institution of prospective students. A list of scholarships as well as a detailed description (including how and when to apply) can be found here.
