Regarding the Coronavirus Disease condition in Taiwan
In light of the outbreak of the Coronavirus Disease, we would like to assure you that the University is doing its best to protect the students and staff from the virus, following the guidelines and recommendations of the authorities. NCTU has established an Epidemic Prevention Team to address and respond to the potential problems that students may encounter, and also act as the primary information sharing entity on campus.
We have also taken active preventive measures. These measures include:
- The introduction of disease prevention policies (including wearing surgical face masks in crowded areas, routine tests of body temperature, installation of hand sanitary devices)
- Cancellation of exchange programs to and from high-risk areas
- Quarantine policies for people who have been to high-risk areas
- Reduction of international academic activities
- Encouraging and supporting our faculty members to conduct lectures online and implementing policies to avoid unnecessary personal contact
Based on the Ministry of Education and Taiwan Centers for Disease Control, cases of community transmission have not occurred in Taiwan.
We urge all members of the NCTU community to stay calm and remain diligent in implementing the preventive measures mentioned above.
We will keep all students updated as we continue to monitor the situation.
